Search Engine Submission: Get Listed in Google, Yahoo and Bing
Search engine submission is an important step if you want your site to appear in Google and other search engine results.
Once you have created your website, if you try to search for it in Google for example, you see that your site won't appear in the results.
This is because your site is not listed in Google directory.
In order to appear in the results and get traffic from search engines, firstly you have to submit you site to the main search engines.
There are many search engines, but many of these you the results of the main ones.
Once your site is listed in the main ones (Google, Yahoo and Bing the former MSN), it will eventually show up in some of the less important search engines.
Before submitting your site
Before submitting, make sure your site has lots of content on it.
Remember that you should have between 15-20 pages of content in order to get listed in search engine directories.
So, don't even try submitting your site if it only has 1-2 pages.
Also, don't forget to add meta tags to all your pages. Meta tags will provide search engine spiders information on what your site is about.
Try to have at least one site from your niche that links back to yours. This means that, if you have a site on tennis, another site that has the same topic as yours (tennis) has to voluntarily place a link to your site on their site.
Remember that you have to have a registered domain, because if you submit a site created on a domain already listed, that site won't be accepted in the directories, as it would be considerate as a duplicate.

Once you have submitted your site to the main directories, all you need is patience.
It might take a while till your site will appear in search engine results.
Just don't keep submitting! If you keep submitting you could be banned!
