First of all, when deciding to write an ebook, you should carefully choose your topic. It has to be a topic that you know lots of things about.
Make sure you include as much unique information as you can. Nobody wants to pay for a book that only provides information they can find everywhere on the web for free.
This way you will only lose your credibility and people won't want to buy from you if you release a second book.
Secondly, try to keep your ebook short. Just think how tiring it would be to read 200 pages on your PC screen.
After your ebook is done, you have to decide which your ebook distribution channel will be (will you sell it on your website, on Clickbank, on PayDotCom etc.)
If you sign up for Clickbank and add your ebook there, you let Clickbank affiliates advertise and sell your ebook on their websites.
Each time your book is sold from a Clickbank affiliate's website, you will pay that person a commission, of course.
I would recommend you to use both your own website and Clickbank for promoting your ebooks.
If you don't have a website and want to create one, firstly, choose a web host, then advertise and sell your ebook on it.
Remember the fact that the most important thing in selling online is traffic. Many times, in fact usually, good marketing makes the difference between success and failure.
Sometimes good ebooks that are not well promoted sell much worse than ebooks that don't have the same quality but that are well promoted.
So, that's why I'm saying it is better to use all the ways that you can (your website, Clickbank) in order to advertise your ebooks and sell as many copies as you can.
